The Original Silver Medal to Commemorate the Award of the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize to Nelson Mandela. Produced by Royal Norwegian Mint in 2001.
Comes inside a presentation folder with three cardboard leaves which itself is protected by an outer cardboard sleeve. The front and back of the medal is viewed through a plastic window in the middle leave. The folder gives a pictorial account of Mandela's life.
Proof struck in Sterling silver (medal marked 925 S). Diameter 39 mm. Contains 1 troy oz of silver. Mintage 25,000. Subsequent re-strikes exist and are packaged differently and some of these are underweight. This one is original. In perfect condition and the package had not been tampered with.
