Nelson Mandela's 85th Birthday dinner- party was held at the Sandton Convention Centre in July 2003.
This was Madiba's last official public function and was attended by dignitaries from across the globe with function co-hosts being Queen Beatrix of Holland and Bill & Hilary Clinton.
Guests were issued with specially crafted credit-card sized invitation cards that indicated their table number in gold numerals. Guest details were encoded onto the magnetic strip for security access (via access readers).
Very rare and tightly held onto by those who attended 23 years ago, this unencoded invitation (0001/Table 40 in a plastic sleeve) is a worthy addition for a collector / conversation piece.
