This coin is encapsulated, and in it's original CD casing as issued by SA Mint.  The CD insert printed by SA Mint states that the coin is PROOF-LIKE, it has not been graded yet, but may well be worth a lot of money if certified with a good grade!  An example of this is an MS66 graded Smiley, which is selling for R55,000.00 on BidOrBuy! An MS66 grading is not the highest grading. MS stands for Mint State and varies from a low grading of MS62 and the highest MS grading - MS70.  

President Nelson Mandela retired from his presidency in 1999. To celebrate his term in office, the Mint designed a coin with his image on it. This coin is significant not only because of the man being captured forever on a coin, but because the image the Mint finally chose to put on the coin pictures a smiling Mandela (hence the term ‘Smiley’). This is the first circulation coin in history where the head of state is pictured smiling. The Mint also went against the norm by placing Mandela’s image on the obverse (front) of the coin (where the date is situated, and where the coat of arms is usually situated).
