In 1815, the title "Prince of Orange" in Holland (Netherlands) referred to William, Prince of Orange (later King William II), heir to the new Kingdom of the Netherlands established by his father, William I, who became King that year; this young prince famously fought and was wounded at the Battle of Waterloo in June 1815, serving as a general under the British.
