This is the first release in the new Birds of Prey series from the Royal Canadian Mint, depicting the spectacular peregrine falcon. These birds, roughly the size of crows, can reach speeds of more than 200 mph, making them the fastest animals in the world.
The obverse of these .9999 fine Silver coins features the profile of Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Canadian born Susanna Blunt, along with the year and face value of $5 (CAD). This Silver coin has a limited mintage of 1 million coins, which adds to its appeal and collectability.

Another first in the series silver bullion coin is the British Year of the Horse.
