YN-568EX II is the 2nd generation of the YN-568EX . The difference between these two generations is that the YN-568EX II can be a Master flash, while the YN-568EX can't. In other respects, they are same.
Description
The YN-568EX II is Yongnuo's first TTL master flash. It can control e-TTL compatible slave flashes like Canon 430EXII, Yongnuo 568EX, Yongnuo 565EX or Yongnuo 560EX as a master. The master mode supports high speed sync up to 1/8000s, all controlled by the camera's external flash menu. One more outstanding feature is the compatibility to both the Canon and Nikon wireless flash system. It is possible to use the same flash as slave in Canon and Nikon environments with full support of TTL and high-speed sync. Because the hot shoe is different from Nikon and Canon, the Canon version only can be used on top of Canon cameras with TTL but still supports wireless Nikon TTL and high-speed sync.
