The Nikon 28-70/2.8 AF-S is a very tough professional lens. It was manufactured sold from 1999 to 2007 and offers spectacular performance, with full compatibility for all Nikon cameras, past and present. It is a very tough and strongly built lens, mostly made out of metal. It has better optical performance than the lenses that replaced it. Its fast maximum aperture of F/2.8 together with the zoom range of 28-70mm are ideal for portraits and weddings, to separate background from subjects in situations where there is little control over backgrounds. The aperture of F/2.8 is constant over the zoom range, making the lens excellent for manual camera settings if desired. The 70mm zoom setting is ideal for portraits, chest&head shots, while the middle zoom ranges are ideal for groups in situations where there is restricted movement. The macro setting of 1:5.6 is good for close-ups of details such as flower arrangements. The lens is also a superb landscape and general photography lens.

The photographs are of the actual lens for sale, including the serial number. The lens is in a pristine condition and optically and mechanically sound; refer to the test shot. It focusses quickly and accurately. It is fully compatible, unlike its replacement versions, with all but some of the cheaper film cameras (won’t autofocus on these), but fully compatible with all full frame FX format as well as DX format Nikon digital cameras.
