Hardcover full faux leather bound edition, published by Purnell & Sons, copyright date 1964. Gilt titling and grenade device to front, as well as the name of L.A. Girling on the bottom right corner. There is some light wear to the edges of the leather, and on the spine. Major L.A. Girling was one of the developers of the flail tank in World War Two. A dedication by the author to Les Girling appears on the half title page, as well as an inscription signed by (Lt.-Colonel) Jim McIntyre, the driving force behind the establishment of Sappersrust. Another lengthy pen inscription appears on the opposite end-paper. These two pages had been glued together, and are creased in several places, with a short tear at the binding at the bottom of the half title page. Some traces of glue remain, and there are small bits of paper pulled off the opposing surfaces of the pages, and stuck to the glue. These preliminary, and the last few pages, are lightly tanned, with some spotting.
