Nique by dSomm'ville
I was recently invited to attend a music 'lesson'. I was seated in an auditorium. I was surprised how quiet it was in there. NO sounds from outside. The harp was on the stage, in a pool of light. A young girl walked in.... long flowing skirt, hair loose, almost unruly. She sat down on the stool...pulled the harp closer to her. She leaned forward, and rested her head on the wooden frame of the harp. THEN....she started playing. Softly stroking the strings, and the rolling sounds of the harp emerged.
It was angelic.............. I could hardly breath.
A great big thanks to Rene who made it possible. Dominique [Nique]...... you play your music with love and understanding. Understanding that the heart and soul needs to be serenaded, and touched by music. You taught 'an old dog' something new. I wish you only the best with your career as a musician, oh yes,and your dream to become a HipHop dancer.
At the age of 14 years, one cannot help but wonder, how your life will be. AND thankyou for the Bobby song, I loved spending the time with you. Thankyou,........ and thankyou again!

Something about the artist.
I live in Middelburg, Mpumalanga....... I've been here for 10 years. I'm hoping to move to the Pretoria area...soooon. I think I would like all the lights and the beat of city life. BUT, I like to visit game reserves. I love watching the animals.
I was born outside Ladysmith, KZN. In a 1957 black Study Baker. My family moved around a lot, but we landed up on the Natal South Coast. We went to school in Ixopo. As a child I left my artistic mark on everything. Walls and floors. I have tried many weird and some sad jobs, but all I wanted to do was paint. I have two lovely daughters....two sons inlaw...two grandsons. My girls would sleep over at their friends houses [ as kids] and found these households to be a little strange. As they grew up they realised that their worlds were different. BUT I would have it no other way.
My work is a little different, because I like to make people smile. I would laugh long before I would cry. I have been very lucky in my career. My work is listed in a number of places.....including BOB. I sell my work through an international art dealer. My paintings have found a home in many countries.
When I work, I always listen to music, ALL kinds of music. My life would be extremely sad if it had to be quiet. I'm always singing. Mostly out of tune.
All YOU need to do, is to, enjoy my offerings. I have to thank all my BOB clients for buying my work.
