This pattern of Jack Knife/Clasp Knife was standard British Army issue from the late 1930's until the early 1950's. It features a marlinspike and can-opener, in addition to the blade. The grip 'scales' are made of Bexoid. This particular knife comes with a copper bail which they stopped using from 1941/42 due to the importance of copper as a war material. All the bails on their knives were steel thereafter. The blade is stamped with the British Military 'Broad Arrow", and NKF. Also interesting to note is that the end spring on one side extends past the bolster to be used as a crude screw driver.
The spring mechanisms are still very strong with a solid click when locking in the open or closed position.
