Interned as a P.O.W. in a British camp facing Mount Kenya, the author and two other prisoners planned and executed an escape with the intention of climbing the mountain. Their sole map was an image of the mountain on the label of a tinned food product.

Hardcover fourth edition published November 1952 by William Kimber, in a well-preserved jacket with a few small chips and tears, protected in cellophane. Pictorial endpapers showing the route taken by the mountaineers, 231 pages.
