Nobel Peace Prize Winners Series 2006 - Archbishop Desmond Mpilo Tutu Proof Set

On 11 December 1984 Archbishop Tutu was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Norway, in recognition of his non-violent campaign to limit international trade and investment activities in South Africa.

The Protea series proof set consists of two 24 carat gold coins, a R25 (1 Oz) and a R5 (1/10 Oz), as well as a sterling silver R1 coin. The obverse sides of these coins feature the Protea Cynaroides (King Protea), South Africa's national flower.
