The Nokia 6670,is a candy-bar shaped handset is a phone packed with all the business needs. It is very similar to the previously released 7610, except for the keypad layouts and some additional business oriented softwares.
In Nokia 6670 the design was the thing to change, the device became stricter though roundish corners remained. This solution is rather disputable and ambiguous for the category. It is partly lived down by the strictness of the appearance and it is in some kind a frivolous design element pointing out the devices are similar and successive. The weight remained the same (118 g) while the device itself got two mm thicker (108.6x53x20.9 mm).The 7610 is not small enough,. However, Nokia tried to use the brand new RSMMC card for storage. RS means reduced size. The package will include a adaptor and a 64MB card for easy transfer files using old card reader. . There is enough space under the back cover and thus the inner capacity of the phone increased. The device is produced in two colour solutions - Aluminum Grey, Deep Blue. And both look strict enough. The manufacturer foreseen a possibility of changing the body with the help of interchangeable panels but now they are present only in standard colours. I suppose that the majority of the panels will be produced by third party manufacturers.
The 6670 features the tried-and-tested main screen with resolution of 176x208 pixels, and is capable of 65,000 colours, as well as the 1 megapixel CMOS camera sensor. The camera is also capable of video recording at a maximum resolution of 176x144 (QCIF). It has SP-MIDI(24-tone) and MIDI(48-tone) polyphonic synthesizer. Besides the polyphonic ringtones, it is capable of playing MP3, AAC and Realplayer sound files. The video player included can play Realvideo, 3GP and MP4 format video files. 8 megabytes of internal memory and an included 64 megabyte RS-MMC memory card is available.
SMS, MMS and email can all be composed on the 6670, and the 6670 supports email attachments. Connectivity is established through Class 6 GPRS, and to connect to other devices you can use USB or Bluetooth to either send data or synchronise contacts and calendar items.
The integrated Java engine is compatible with MIDP 2.0 applications, and the phone utilises the Symbian operating system with Series 60 user interface. The integrated web browser supports WML, XHTML and standard HTML, and there is also an application included on the RS-MMC card capable of displaying PDF files on the phone’s screen. A document viewer program for displaying MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint files is included too.
The 6670 weighs in at 118 grams and is expected to have up to four hours of talk time and 10 days standby time.
