Nokia n73 forms part of the Nseries phones, which are developed for entrainment and multimedia capabilities. This is due to their great camera features and editing options. It has your familiar candy-bar design and it comes available in different colors among which black, silver, and plum and red. The phone measures 4.3 by 1.9 by 0.7 inches and weighs 4.1 ounces.
The camera lens are located on the back covered and the overall construction feels solid and very comfortable when the phone is held to your ear. The display is just amazing, measures 2.4” QVGA with a pixel resolution of 240x320 and supporting 262.144 colors. Colors and text look sharp and you can even read it in direct sunlight. You can change of course the backlighting time and choose between various themes you can download online. The font size is the one that can’t be changed. Below the screen are the navigation array and the keypad.
There is also a five-way joystick for scrolling the menu and if you press it down it acts as a select button, just like Sony Ericsson’s phones. The keypad is considered to be a bit cramped and might be a problem for those with larger fingers, so misdialing might occur quite often. That is why it is best to give Nokia n73 a try first before you purchase it.
On the right side of the phone are the camera key and a review button to view your pictures taken and the video captures along with a volume rocker that acts also as a zoom. On the bottom of the phone is a miniSD expansion slot in case you want to expand the memory of the phone. It comes protected by an attached cover and having longer nails might help you remove it. In order to activate the camera on the back, you just need to slide the cover down. When you do this, the screen will automatically go to landscape mode acting as a viewfinder. This makes the phone look as a digital camera and it might be weird to take photos vertically.
There is a second camera above the screen in the right. The imaging editing options makes this phone a multimedia one. First of all it has Carl Zeiss lens and vast options to customize the photos. There are different resolutions, quality settings, eight scene modes, brightness contrast adjustment, red eye reduction, self-timer and a lot more. Capturing videos will be done in MP4 or 3GP, all in high-quality.
