Na haar stiefmoeder se dood neem Katrien Khourie verlof om net iewers te gaan rus. Van haar voorneme om te rus, kom egter niks nie, want sy beland op Wilgerhof tussen die Prinsloos. Daar is tannie Dora en haar swaer oom Stoffie, SJ wat gou vir Katrien begin ogies maak, en dokter Roux met wie sy bots omdat sy boererate aan sy pasiënte uitdeel.

Om sake te vererger, hoor Katrien allerhande gerugte oor tannie Dora en oom Stoffie die rondte doen; Jan Stiglingh verskyn weer op die toneel; Katrien ontdek haar eie broer en kry te doen met 'n mededinger om 'n man se guns. Dan besluit sy om maar liewer terug te gaan huis toe.
Maar... die lewe verloop nie altyd soos 'n mens dit beplan nie.
