On offer is a Noritake cake platter, the pattern consisting of bright leaves and acorns. The cake platter measures 245mm x 220mm. There are no chips, cracks or crazing and pattern and cutlery wear are very low. Trim is at about 9.5/10. Have a look at the gallery and place your bids! RESEARCH: I was unable to find any other information about this pattern. So pardon the amateur sleuthing. The green backstamp began to be used in 1912 and the products were aimed at the domestic Japanese market. The absence of information on the net indicates 1) The item was discontinued probably prior to the 1970's and as such is unlikely to reappear with some frequence, or 2) Not many may have been produced. This would account for the lack of information. 3) You will note the 'Nippon' mark. While not in itself indicative of a date all imported items to the United States had to have the country of origin affixed to the item as of 1921. If you do have more information about this pattern I would really appreciate your comments.
