Northern Exposure

After graduating from Columbia Medical School, Dr Joel Fleischman has to repay his debt to the state of Alaska, who sponsored his medical education.

Thinking he will be stationed in Anchorage, he is horrified to learn he is being sent to the tiny town, Cicely, in the middle of nowhere, Alaska.

The people are just a little weird, but in their own special way they capture the doctor's heart and he finds it very difficult to leave. Each has a unique view of life: Ruth-Anne who runs the general store, D.J. Chris Stevens wise ramblings, Joel's nurse Marilyn, who offers quiet insight, and even the moose wandering the quiet streets of the town.

The sexual tension between the doctor and the local pilot, Maggie, is what kept many viewers returning week after week to find out if they'd finally get it together!

All these characters find their way into your heart and you're more than a little lost without them at the end of each episode.
