Northern Rhodesia - Solid Silver & Enamel 'R.A.O.B.' Medal (Zainst Lodge)

 

This early, good quality, sterling silver and enamel 'Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffalos' (RAOB) medal features a bird on the front with the wording 'ZAINST 9512 LODGE' above. It is engraved 'To Bro. GATES' 'For Services Rendered To The Members Of The Zainst Lodge' on the back and English hallmarked for Birmingham 1968, with the makers mark 'F.C.P' for 'F. C. Parry Ltd'. Other than a very minor enamel chip, the medal is in excellent condition and measures 4,6cm x 11cm including the ribbon, and weighs 27,7g.
