This is the NOVA VISTA Leviathan, hands-down the prominent budget PCP of the #2 pellet calibre. Featuring well-loved and praised accuracy, versatility as a game-shooter / bench-rester (we actually had a customer who achieved 14th position in SA, in the NHSA National Postal Shooting Competition.. He actually competed against gents who shot rifles 3 - 4 times the price of his LEVIATHAN)
..
This rifle features a hearty, solid beechwood monte carlo stock w/ a raised cheek comb, which certainly adds as much weight, as it does a sense of solidity to the rifle 'feel'. Removing the wooden stock is also considerably easier than removing the two-piece synthetic one. Otherwise, you are still not supplied open sights w/ the rifle, although most people will likely just opt for a scope / optical device to produce an aiming aperture.
Features;
This rifle has an overpressure relief valve, likewise fitted w/ a burst disc that will expire before any critical pressure damage can occur to your air reservoirs. We think these are two good safety backstops, necessary as well, for a 300 BAR PCP gun.
Regulator (From 100 BAR ~ 200 BAR of pressure.) - You can only adjust UP when the rifle is filled up. If you try to adjust downward, you'll likely damage the regulator and/or seals attached to it) The higher your regulator pressure, the higher your consistent muzzle velocity, but the higher your air consumption / the lower your amount of regulated shots
Externally adjustable hammer spring - This is accomplished by means of an M3 allen wrench. Rotating the screw head at the back, under the rifle action, inward, increases muzzle velocity. Rotating it the other way, decreases muzzle velocity. Just note that the manufacturer indicates that, possibly after about 500 shots, the hammer spring will break in and you will lose 50 FPS. This can be compensated for by either tightening down the spring, or adding an M3 stainless steel nut as a shim in behind the spring, to rejuvenate your muzzle velocity.
Easy accessable bleeder screw - Just chuck an allen wrench in and you can bleed out the entire air reservoir. Comes in handy if you nneed to tune your regulator pressure up or would just like to disassemble your rifle for repairs (maintenance) / modifications / inspection.
Full sized Monte-Carlo stock - Alot of people used to hunting rifle handling, might find familiarity in the handling of this rifle. The cocking lever sits forwardly, easily within reach and you should be able to blindly cock the rifle without needing to lose your sight picture.
Integrated filling probe - Just thread off the end cap on the nose-end of the air reservoir, as shown in the gallery lineup, then you can refill your air rifle. No need to keep a filling probe lying around / losing it. If damaged, you should be able to replace it w/ a standard non-return 1/8" BSP male Q/C fitting.
180cc Air reservoir capacity - On factory power setting, you're looking at about 70 shots per fill, down to 100 BAR, which is really not bad. The second / smaller air reservoir is concealed inside the stock.
Picatinny rail under the stock, aluminium-made - Here you can affix a bipod if desired, to rest the fore of your rifle's weight upon, whereby you can manipulate the rear of the rear, harbouring the optical sighting device, upon a forwardly pivot point. For most bipods, this will be up and down
Integrated sling swivel points - If you have a two point sling w/ sling swivels, then you can attach these directly onto your rifle, w/ no modifications needed and carry your rifle as such when perhaps, going through the bush / hunting expedition. A sling to a rifle is what a holster is to a pistol.. Always remember this.
Side cocking lever - Nothing beats simplicity of chambering, and the BEHEMOTH offers this. No laggy feel on the lever when hinging it out, no overt stiff feeling as you max out its arc of motion. The rifle has a lengthy vertical bar as well, affixed to the cocking lever, which assists in ease of cocking, even if the lever is seated rearwardly in an otherwise awkward position, with respect to its distance to one's shoulder.
Hybrid Weaver / Dovetail rail - This is a lovely little innovation incorporated into the rifle design, as you can now mount 9-11mm dovetail mount rings OR Weaver mount rings. Picatinny mount rings fit here fine as well, though normally we recommend HAWKE's range of WEAVER mount rails, to hold your scope on top of this rifle. The recoil-stop slots would just serve to counter-act forwardly and rearwardly movement of the mount rings as much as they can.
Overall, This rifle is a top seller specifically because of its adjustable regulator, adjustable hammer spring, online popularity, pricetag and versatility / adaptability. The wooden stock does add a little weight to the rifle and the length can be a source of complaint to some, however, that being so - we do have the BEHEMOTH in stock, which is the younger brother to this rifle - featuring the same rifle action, but just in bullpup configuration, w/ a few extra tactical bells & whistles.
**
The rifle features a guage on each side of the receiver - The one that has the green markings up to 300 BAR is your fill guage, the one that has green markings up to 200 BAR, would be your regulator guage. Please don't try to push your regulator pressure beyond 200 BAR and also familiarize yourself in full with the instruction manual prior to changing any settings on the rifle. At your request, we can preset your rifle for you as per your preference, even zero it in for you as well, to be able to put pellet onto an A4 sheet @ 50m's (on condition you purchase an optical sighting device in conjunction w/ this rifle)
Then lastly, of importance, will be the business of silence. Please see hereunder;
