Henry Hathaway directs this black and white drama starring Gary Cooper, Carole Lombard and Shirley Temple. Jerry Day (Cooper) has made a living swindling others out of their money. While on holiday with his second wife Toni (Lombard), he runs up a tab which he is unable to pay and sets about a plan to get out of paying a single penny.

With a scheme in place to sell the custody rights to his daughter from his first marriage, will Toni stick by him when she learns of his deceit or will she realise that enough is enough? The cast also includes Guy Standing, Charlotte Granville and Gilbert Emery.
