Also known as tamarind, Garcinia Cambogia is a small superfruit native to Indonesia but also grown in India, South East Asia and West and Central Africa. It contains a substance in its rind known as HCA or hydroxytric acid.
HCA (hydroxycitric acid) prevents fat gain by preventing carbohydrates converting into fat. Effectively a fat blocker, Gymmenic acid reduces intestinal absorption of glucose and may stimulate pancreatic beta cell function, increasing the release of insulin. Chromium works synergistically with HCA and Gymmenic acid promoting energy release rather than fat storage.
Studies are ongoing for this superfruit, but they have shown many other health benefits such as acting as a digestion aid, anti-inflammatory, appetite suppressant, immune strengthener, assissting with maintaining healthy insulin levels, and a metabolism stimulant to help burn excess fat.

Directions
Adults and Children over 12 years of age: Take one to two tablets three times a day on an empty stomach about 30 minutes before meals. Supplies optimal and effective doses of HCA, Gymmenic acid and chromium polynicotinate.
Children between 7 and 12 years of age: Take one tablet three times a day on an empty stomach about 30 minutes before meals.
Results are improved when complimented by appropriate diet and excersize. Not recommended for children and pregnant or nursing women.

Warnings: Those taking a statin (a cholesterol-lowering drug) should use this supplement with caution because it can increase the risk of harmful side effects, like rhabdomyolysis or muscle degradation. Those with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia shouldn¿t take HCA because of the risk of worsening dementia.
