The OvuMax™ Saliva Ovulation Tester is a personal mini-microscope that assists a woman to determine fertile and infertile periods during her monthly cycle and thus increases the chances of conception. This is a latest method to assist a woman to determine ovulation.

During a woman’s monthly cycle there are about 3 days which an egg can be fertilized. As sperm lasts up to 72 hours this gives approximately a 6 day window period when a woman can conceive. Just prior to ovulation, salts or electrolytes increase dramatically in saliva along with oestrogen. It has been scientifically tested that during the fertile period a sample of saliva when examined under a microscope crystallizes and contains fern-like structures. These fern like structures come from dried out electrolyte crystals that are built up before and during ovulation.

Easy to use, just add a drop of saliva to the lens and let the sample dry. Wait five minutes then view the sample through the microscope. Turn the LED light button and focus the eyepiece of the microscope to sharpen the image. If you are ovulating, or about to ovulate, a ferning, crystal-like pattern can be viewed.

With a 28 day cycle, you should be ovulating on day 14 if you have a normal cycle. In the first month we recommend you use the tester every day to accurately determine your ovulation period. Record results on a calendar. You will soon recognize the unique saliva patterns that indicate infertile, fertile, and transitional periods.

Hint: The best time to test is first thing in the morning before you brush your teeth or eat anything.

Not suitable for:

Women in advanced menopause, women using the contraceptive pill or hormonal therapy, women who have been pregnant within the last 3 months & women using fertility drugs.
