The onboard algorithms mark a doubling in complexity, from previous algorithms, driving the minds at NUX to develop all-new hardware to accommodate the advanced architecture of its analog circuits, premium A/D and D/A converters, and two DSPs one for amp modeling, and one for effects.
Trident Editor and deep sound-design tools
Trident's 27 amps are only the beginning of its IR-powered possibilities, as NUX used four iconic mics to capture every amp in three positions with each mic, in addition to high- and low-input options, going as far as even modeling the cables themselves. In total, that's 648 options, undergirded by 1,024-sample resolution that ensures uncompromising fidelity and every configuration is ready to be tailored to suit your tone and style. What's more, the free-to-download Trident Editor software lets you go even further in your tone-shaping odyssey, in addition to automatically converting third-party IRs into a Trident-compatible format, for up to 32 additional IRs of your own.
Flexible, ferocious control: looping, effects, MIDI, and more
From first rehearsals to curtain calls, NUX built the Trident to accompany your every sonic venture. Its slew of onboard effects is built on two sub-modules, one that's dedicated to Delays and Reverbs and one for Modulation effects and dynamics tools, with a mix of effect-specific and custom-assignable switches to accommodate your playing and performance preferences. A 3-band EQ is joined by Presence, Level, and Gain controls, the last of which gives you full power over the diverse distortions and overdrives that abound throughout the onboard amps, with a Boost switch to instantly drive your tones via full-throttle firepower. If that weren't enough on the performance front, NUX outfitted the Trident with a built-in phrase looper.
While the surface-mounted controls offer plenty of intuitive navigation, satisfying tactility, and detailed sound-management tools that skip any pesky menu-diving processes, NUX spared no effort to guarantee every artist can play their way. The Trident's I/O suite boasts a wealth of versatile connections designed for seamless integration into nearly any studio or stage arrangement. Twin XLR DI outputs are flanked by a heptad of 1/4-inch jacks, spanning audio and headphone outputs, Send and Return effects-loop options, and a dedicated input for your expression pedal. Furthermore, NUX included 5-pin MIDI adapters for the Trident's 3.5mm TRS MIDI I/O, accommodating myriad configurations of hybrid setups and further incorporation of your favorite sound-shaping tools.
