Product OverviewThe PCAL9554BPWJ is an 8-bit general purpose Input/output (GPIO) Expander withinterrupt and weak pull-up for I²C-bus/SMBus applications. The NXP I/O expanderprovides a simple solution when additional I/Os are needed while keepinginterconnections to a minimum. In addition to providing a flexible set of GPIOs,the wide VDD range of 1.65 to 5.5V allows the expander to interface withnext-generation microprocessors and microcontrollers where supply levels aredropping down to conserve power. It contains the PCA9554A register set of four8-bit configuration, input, output and polarity inversion registers andadditionally, the expander has Agile I/O, which are additional featuresspecifically designed to enhance the I/O.
