The Oban 14 Year Old was launched in 1988 as part of Diageos Classic Malts Selection and remains the only core aged release from this west coast Highland distillery. Lightly peated and matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, it is bottled at 43% ABV, delivering Obans signature balance of coastal influence, gentle smoke, and rich fruit.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Warming and sweet with an oily, waxy texture; nutty notes balanced by ripe orchard fruits. Almond fruit cake, malty cereals, and aromatic orange.

Palate: Mouth-coating and warming with gentle spice. Rich fruit bread, orange zest, and clove, developing into a drier profile with mint and crisp green apple.

Finish: Initially syrupy, then drying with elegant tannins. Dark chocolate notes emerge, followed by a subtle trace of late, slightly cedary smoke.

This 1990s bottling is increasingly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts for its classic character and era-specific presentation.
