OCARINA
I have two antique ocarinas which have been in my possession for some 40 years. These are extremely rare items and are virtually unobtainable in South Africa.
The ocarinas were made in Paris by C H Mathieu at at the end of the nineteenth century or early twentieth century.
They are made of pewter and nickel plated. There are 10 holes which are marked with numbers and sol-fa letters. I don't know what key they are in. They are numbered on the mouthpiece "1" and "2", the first being slightly smaller than the other. The round end of each ocarina says "Modele depose". See photos.
These are instruments which may interest a professional musician or collector of rare musical instruments. THEY ARE NOT TOYS!
I would rate their condition as very good.
The price quoted is for each ocarina, inother words R2000 for the two.
