This programme is a true bit of history as it was the the South Africa's first challenge for the world title , it was the first Heavyweight title fight in South Africa, it was Gerrie's first Title fight, and lost but later won against Leon Spinks in Monte Carlo and subsequently lost in his first defence and it was the largest crowd - 90 000 - record till today, to fit into Loftus.
