Oil on board of an androgynous 'Alien' face in black, grey and white.

This is a most unusual oil painting on a thick board (therefore heavy) in black, grey and white is of a man's (possibly an Alien's) face.  In this portrait some of the features appear to be that of a man and yet some are of a woman,  the hand (although a little gnarled) is propably that of a woman.  Is it his own hand or a woman's hand holding his face, that is the mystery behind this androgynous subject ?  The painting measures 41 x 80cm's and the artist (presumed South African) , is unknown, another mystery !
