About the artist:

Lynette Hamman exhibited widely in South Africa over a period of 25 years by personal exhibitions and in galleries all over the country. Since 1981, she had various exhibitions in the Netherlands, Paris, Rome, and the Greek Islands, where she was influenced by the beautiful cities and arts of Europe and the Greek Islands. Since then her style developed the same passionate coloring and movement. Her work exudes rhythm and especially the indigenous sceneries and people of the land. Her work is very romantic, and is done with a palette knife in oils. Her love for blossom trees is also a connection to the early romantic time of the masters in Impressionism. Shapes and forms of people always interest her and movement of light is usually utilized in her work.
