Jerzy Kossak was a Polish genuin painter best know of his realistic creation of military scene.
His favourite painting subject are the Uhlan soldiers of Poland the early 19th century and scenes related to this topic. Born on September 11, 1886 in Kraków, Poland. His father was incredibly famous artist whose work played a large role in his character of painting and perception. Today his artists works adorns collections of the Polish Museum of American in Chicago, the Museum of Polish Army Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Krakow and many art collectors around the world. Jerzy Kossak died on May 11, 1955.

We only give invoices for any item sold by us on the Bidorbuy auction. We do not issue any certificate; similar to other established Fine Auction Houses in South Africa. In future, if you want to sell paintings through an established Fine Art Auction House, they would have their own specialists who establish the authenticity of the art and dont consider certificates from unknown and unqualified sources. We have seen number of paintings with different certification which we simply refuse to accept for sale. The reason being that they dont meet our view of artist presented to us. We believe that, to avoid making wrong choice in purchasing any artist art works, it is necessary to find more information in books or other sources, or visit a library. These sources give you a much clearer idea as to the appearances of the paintings any artist. You thus have to decide yourself. You definitely shouldnt believe that any certificate guarantees you the validity of everything it purports to - but that is your choice. We believe that proper certification of fine art is essential, and that it will validate the product over and above any other product and requires a totally different approach. The person responsible has to be highly qualified, with a minimum academic education and proof of any qualification(s). He should be recognized by the art world market, have lot of experience in this field (including in-depth knowledge of particular artists and their techniques, knowledge of the art of analysis and methods as well as their originality). He should also should be recognized by the leading Auction Houses on the market. The assessment of fine art is a time-consuming and expensive process, without even mentioning the fee of such an expert. For this reason, only the big Auction Houses can afford this practice and only when the painting is expensive thus worthwhile.
