Cox was born in Mount Holly, New Jersey, United States of America and studied at the Katharine Gibbs Schools of Art. Cox established a huge reputation in the United States for his almost neo-Victorian style and his early adoption of the pallet knife in creating stylized flowers.  He was awarded the Brown Hammerson Medal of Honour for services to art in 1986.

For your consideration is this lovely oil on board painting of white / cream roses by the renowned American artist, Robert Cox. He painted mostly in still life during the 1970s - 1980s, using a palette knife technique. His attention to detail is amazing and these roses are painted in relief to the canvas. You can feel them with your fingers. This lovely painting is in excellent condition, measures 210mm x 260mm and the frame measures 285mm x 335mm on the outer edges. It is wired and ready to hang.

His work resides in many museums, galleries and private collections in America and internationally, Europe, Australia . His paintings have been auctioned at high end houses such as Christie's, Bonhams and Cheffins.
