An old wooden carved African mask.

Made of wood - possibly kiat - with natural striping from very dark, reddish brown to yellow.

An unusual design construction with many features. The lower part is a face with scarifications and open mouth in a grin. The 'eyebrows' are open with opposing faces - above them the elephant and on top there is another effigy like head.

Very good condition with signs of age:

Cracks from drying on the lower part through the chin, with a fine crack running up through the left eye. There is a small scrape on the elephant trunk and surface age signs in the wood.

Origin and age unknown, I would appreciate any information you have!
