OLD OAK MUSICAL JEWELLERY BOX

This is a very unusual old oak musical jewellery box, with four carved arches on the front. As mentioned, the box is musical, and on the underside, the following label appears in respect of the musical workings: "THORENS Movement, Faust Waltz, Made in Switzerland". Also on the underside is another label, which reads: "A Genuine Presenta Musical Novelty". The winding mechanism and the music box are in perfect working order. The box measures approximately 17,5 cm in width by 10 cm in length. The box stands 8 cm high. There are two little brass hinges that attach the lid to the box. The piece is in good condition, although there is a little scuff mark on the back. The scuff mark does not detract from the piece at all.
