About this Item

This is the eighth impression of the first edition which came out in the year following the first impression. Boards are bright and clean with heavy white curved line decoration on bright front board and bright silver title on the spine. Leaves are bright and clean. Top edge is slightly dusted and foxed with a small light stain, hence the grade of very good, though overall the book has an excellent appearance. Dust jacket is in superb near fine condition: it has been protected in plastic without tape since purchase and is thus bright and complete and not price clipped. The price has a sticker from the publisher Jonathan Cape with 18s. net on it. With the superb Richard Chopping illustration.
