MIKE TALJAARD ART

The Statues is an antique ornament and a collector's item. 

 It stands 150 mm high, length 148 mm and width 40 mm. PHOTOS WERE IN THE DAYLIGHT WITH NO FLASH ON.

The Statue is in a good condition but with one defect to mention.  The back right bottom of the leg was cracked but has been mended on and stands firm (it is not loose).  You can hardly see it and only noticeable with close inspection.

Nowhere on the internet could I find a beautiful iron cast statue as this one.
 

This is such a great piece, in excellent vintage condition.

It comes from an estate in Cape Town. As you can see with the pictures, it has a lot of detail.

The statue stands by itself and has a small chain hanging from it's mouth which represents it's reins.  I do not know much about ornaments, but the artist used a gold finish to highlight the saddle, face, side bags, tail and mane of the horse.  I think I am crazy to let the auction start at R1, but lets give it a bash.
