Arthur Mee (1875-1943) was one of the most successful childrens non-fiction writers of the first four decades of the 20th century. In 1925 Hodder & Stoughton published his Book of One Thousand Beautiful Things, comprising poems, short articles, lots of excellent photographs, and snippets of literature and history from various countries across the world.
This edition published by Hodder & Stoughton, London. No date in book, but not a first edition, probably circa 1930s. Condition: Fair. Insides of front and back hardboard marked with a seal. Stains, foxing and light water damage on some pages but all text and illustrations clear. Previous owners name in front. Light stains on dark green hardboard cover. Edges a bit worn. 322 pp.
