Wide Range Amplification Technology
The Onkyo A-9130 uses Wide Range Amplification Technology and a high output EI transformer to meet power demands over fluctuating impedance. Powerful customised audio capacitors and a low impedance drive help to keep your music flowing through dynamic passages, achieving a more musical sound. The low negative feedback amplifier circuits have discrete transistors to deliver deep and punchy bass with a wide frequency coverage of 10Hz to 100 kHz.
Wolfson DAC
All digital sources connected to the A-9130 amplifier are decoded by a premium Wolfson WM8718 DAC on the digital audio board. This DAC is a high grade component often found in high end audio products, due to its excellent performance and support of 192 kHz/24-bit playback resolution. Optical and coaxial digital inputs are included on the A-9130 to allow you to connect your TV, so you can experience quality Hi-Fi sound with your movies, music and games. The digital audio board is also able to shut off whenever an analogue signal is detected, reducing any potential interference that might occur.
Clear Sound at Low Volume
When playing the Onkyo at low volume, the Optimum Gain Volume Circuity is employed, a circuit that uses less than half the normal amount of attenuation, meaning the signal never drops close to the noise floor. You can enjoy listening even at low volumes with hearing a muffled sound, only the clearest audio.
Phase Matching Bass Boost
Whilst many pre-main amps have a loudness button to boost low-mid frequencies, this can often result in a phase shift, degrading the clarity of the vocal frequency. Onkyo produced Phase Matching Bass Boost for the A-9130, to eliminate phase shift between the low and mid-range frequencies above 300Hz. Bass response remains boosted without compromising vocal clarity, especially when listening at low volumes where bass frequencies are more difficult to hear.
Direct Mode
The Direct Mode function bypasses tone and Phase Matching bass circuits in order to shorten signal path lengths and bring you closer to the source. Signal paths have been reduced as much as possible across all the circuitry for an accurate, faithful sound reproduction.
Rigid Chassis
To combat the negative effects of vibrations produced by electromechanical resonance, the Onkyo A-9130 features a rigid metal chassis that is 1.6mm thick, working together with large, wide spaced insulators, making sure any unwanted resonance is almost entirely eliminated.
Inputs and Outputs
The A-9130 features a dedicated MM phono stage analogue input, designed to work with turntables, allowing you to directly connect your record player and start listening easily. There are five additional stereo phono inputs for devices such as a CD player, tuner or network streamer, as well as optical and coaxial digital inputs for connecting to the TV. The outputs include a phono analogue output and a subwoofer pre-out, as well as a front panel 6.35mm silver-plated headphone socket.
