Four paperbacks in original light cardboard slipcase open on two sides. Clear tape over the corners for reinforcement. Small nicks to the corners of the slipcase.Photographic illustrations. Pictorial card covers. Goldberg calls the "new Europeans" illegal immigrants, refugees, displaced people and asylum seekers from Africa, the Middle East and eastern Europe. His subjects were encourage to write on the Polaroid portraits taken of them. A real feeling of displacement captured in a few faltering words. Sadness, despair, bleakness and man's inhumanity fill his portraits. Many of the young women he encountered have been trafficked and sold into prostitution. 1st Edition. Near fine. Slipcase. Fair.
