The author's earlier book, 'The White Lions of Timbavati' described how, while studying a pride of lions in the Timbavati reserve adjoining the Kruger Park, he discovered two snow-white lion cubs and later a third belonging to a different sub-group. In his new book he tells how, after a visit to his London publisher, he arrived in South Africa to find that the white cubs and their mother had disappeared and so had the two great lions who rules over the pride - Achilles and Agamemnon. Fearing for their safety the McBride's gave up all their other work in order to devote themselves to finding the missing lions.
