Drama in Diamonds

the story of the Oppenheimer Jewel Theft

Hardcover First Edition 1956

An account of the theft, in South Africa, of gems valued at more than half-a-million dollars in 1955. The Oppenheimer gems vanished one night without a single clue. An informant came forward demanding a reward, the police set a trap, and the jewels were recovered. But this was only Act Two of the drama, with the informant demanding his reward, one of the defendants turning Queen's evidence, and a war hero being the charged with the theft, followed by the trialLove this book, it is an old book. The book is written in such a way that makes it so easy to digest. The book is also a factual account. Because of the era it remains true to the facts, but is written in such a way that it reads like very exciting fiction. Loved the how this book was packaged, so I have retained the very colourful area with all the different stamps and I intend to make a dust cover for the book. I will put a picture up in the summer
