Orca bush bean x 10 seeds

Native to the Caribbean region, where they prefer the warm, moist climate, orca beans were first domesticated over 400 years ago. Through the ages, this petite heirloom variety has gone by a number of other names, too, including Calypso, Yin-Yang, and Vaquero.

Orca / Calypso / Yin Yang beans are so eye-catching people seem to fall in love at first sight. This unique shelling bean has beautiful half black and half white seeds. Heirloom bush bean that is widely-adapted for baking and soups. Early yielding plant with 4-5 beans per pod. Beans will double in size when cooked. Great flavor and creamy texture. The plump beans in short, round pods mature early on compact, heavy-producing plants.

Growing Tips

Direct seeds in loose soil well after danger of frost in rows 12 - 18 inches apart. Plant 5-10 apart. Plant height is 1-2 feet. Let mature until buckskin color and harvest on a dry day.
