Offered for sale is a fine and highly detailed silver gilt metal sculpture of a Heron or Crane  with unswept wings and balancing on one leg  .The sculpture has a round socle base decorated with acanthus leaves. There is no visible makers mark or stamp however the subject and styling suggest this is probably a Japanese Meiji period item dating to circa 1910. The bird figurine is mounted on a black marble base. The condition is good however there is a frit/chip on the upper edge of the base . 

Postage is R100 via Postnet  or R150 for courier delivery to major cities in SA. Collection is welcome from Emmerantia Jhb
