Offered here is an original a complete issue of the French illustrated newspaper Le Petit Journal, Supplément Illustré, issue number 524, dated Sunday, 2 December 1900. The front cover features a striking full-colour portrait of President Paul Kruger of the South African Republic during the Second Boer War, issued at the height of his European visit. On the back is the dramatic full-page illustration titled Déraillement du Sud-Express - Le Wagon-Restaurant, depicting the November 1900 Sud-Express railway disaster, a major international news event of the time. Condition: please examine photos carefully. Age-related toning and foxing throughout. Noticeable horizontal tear extending inward from the middle left edge, with additional edge tears, creases, and handling folds. The colour lithographs remain vibrant and display well. Sold as photographed.
