An exceptionally rare and iconic piece of World War I memorabilia the Princess Mary Christmas Gift Fund brass tin, issued in 1914 to British troops on the front lines.

This example still contains its original tobacco packet, though partially damaged, which makes it a very desirable collectors item. Most surviving tins are empty, making this piece particularly scarce.

Details:

Date: 1914

Material: Brass

Contents: Original tobacco packet (damaged but present)

Condition: Tin in good vintage condition with aged patina; tobacco packet worn and partly torn

Origin: Sent to troops via the Princess Mary Christmas Gift Fund, UK

A true piece of wartime history seldom found in South Africa, and especially not with original contents.
