Inspiration Behind the Painting:
I have the most beautiful, bright California poppies growing in my garden in Barrydale, South Africa. I think our climate is very similar to that of California, hence why these blooms grow so prolifically.
They sway in the breeze and induce one almost into a trance, which is why I've set them on a very dreamy background.
