Beautiful original early 19th century flintlock gun for sale. This gun is in good overall condition for its age. Collectors of flintlock guns will know that it is rare to find an original flintlock gun of 200 plus years old in such a good condition, and with the original flintlock mechanism and hardware fitted to the gun. The length of the gun is 150cm. The gun is fitted with a full length beechwood stock in beautiful above average condition. The lock mechanism of the gun is marked to Sargant & Son. The gun is fitted with a 10 guage smooth bore barrel that is also in very good condition. The gun is also fitted with a brass buttplate and brass ramrod pipes with a steel trigger guard. Also present is an early replacement ramrod.

In the book Voortrekkerlewe by Rhe Carstens and Pieter W Grobbelaar a photograph of an almost identical flintlock gun can be seen on page 262. I included photographs of the book and the gun as depicted on page 262.

Pick up recommended or courier according to choice of buyer.
