1882 Original French Gras Bayonet Sword and Scabbard with matching serial numbers!

 

Item description:

T-back sword bayonet M1874  (not 100 % sure) Look at the pictures

1882 French Gras bayonet, built for use with the French Gras Military Rifle. 

Scabbard and bayonet have matching serial numbers.

Blade is in scripted on its' spine M're d'Armes de 1882. indicating its original manufacture at the arsenal in St. Etienne in July of 1878.  Blade and scabbard have the serial number and letters unclear 46444

The cross guard is marked with the serial number 46444. The letters R and B 69 , 3 are clearly marked as well.
