ORIGINAL GERMAN THIRD REICH M34 POLIZEI HELMET

Original German Third Reich Polizei Helmet in good condition. The helmet shell is stamped D.R.P   A  THALE.

The liner is original and the helmet is fully lined in leather. The liner is still in good condition. The helmet still has the original

chin strap and fastening latch. The Liner has the name of it's original owner written on it and gives the piece a personal touch.

There appears to be the remnants of two decals (double decal), but these cannot be made out. Usually, the decals

encountered on M34's are either the specific town's emblem or the Police emblem and Swastika combination. Later on in the

war years, decals were no longer authorised for use, as they made the wearer rather conspicious in battle. Although this is a

police helmet, the wearer might actually have worn his helmet in combat, as the war became more dire and this could account

for the removal of the decals. Second World War helmets were also used in the "new" Germany and simply de - natzified.  The

helmet has great character and smacks of originality
