| DESCRIPTION | An original oil painting depicting a Continental street scene with a sidewalk cafe. The artist used both brush and palette knife and the paint is quite thickly applied. The painting is signed by the artist at bottom right and is not dated but probably dates from the 1950s. It is done on artist board (Hardboard covered in fine canvass) and framed in a period wooden frame coloured cream. The painting is of medium size and in horizontal format. It measures 57.5 x 72 cm and the artwork itself (thus without frame) measures 44.5 x 60 cm. See the 4 images and their descriptions below for more details. |
| CONDITION | The artwork is in very good condition with no fading and the colours nice and bright, but it could do with some cleaning. The frame is sturdy and complete, but there is some wear and chipping to the cream covering. This painting can be hung as is. |
