original Recce used XL l/s training greens shirt - period item

Here we have on auction a lucky find a X-Large size Recce "training greens" long-sleeved shirt in very good used condition and without any damage and/ rips and with all the buttons present.

These training greens items are usually "tired" when they appar on the surplus market just because they are used to bits during training and to find a good intact XL shirt such as this is very rare indeed!

These shirts are used by the SA SF as a general training uniform in the 1980's and ealry 1990's and were also intended to (when used operationally) "mimic" the often encountered olive drab field-dress used by the Cubans in Angola as well as surplus olive drab Portuguese uniforms subsequently used by both FAPLA and SWAPO PLAN cadres in Angola and also FRELIMO and FADM troops in Mozambique.

This is a SA made uniform and is considered as part of the SA SF Recce copy camo series uniforms and when new would also have had a paper type ID tag. Now in this shirt only the Recce copy type silk size tag remains.

This shirt is cut/sewn in the std SADF style with the charachteristic SADF shape buttons here in dark olive green. All buttons are present.

The shrt is 100% cotton twill in a Herring-bone twill knit true to the original Porra and Cuban uniforms detail;
